Green Beans Almondine
This green beans almondine recipe with bacon is easy, quick, and satisfying. Great for a mid-week meal or for special occasions.
Servings: 6 servings
- 8 slices bacon (lean)
- 1 pound green beans, fresh (trimmed and halved) or frozen (thawed and drained)
- 2 Tbs garlic , minced
- 2 tsp dry thyme
- ½ tsp salt , more to taste
- ½ tsp black pepper , more to taste
- ½ cup almonds , slivered
Cook bacon. When done, remove from pan. Drain all but 2 tablespoons bacon fat.
Add green beans to pan heated to low-medium heat.
Also add garlic, thyme, salt, and pepper.
Cover pan and cook 15 minutes.
Uncover and stir in almonds and crumbled bacon.
Serve right away.
