  • 29 ounces green beans canned (2 cans) (or 1 pound fresh, 16 ounces frozen)
  • 1 Tbsp garlic minced
  • 1 small onion chopped
  • ¼ tsp cayenne pepper more or less to taste
  • 1 tsp paprika smoked or sweet
  • 1 tsp oregano dry
  • 1 tsp marjoram dry

  • salt to taste

  • Preheat a heavy Dutch oven or pot to low-medium heat.

If Using Fresh or Frozen Green Beans

  • If using fresh or frozen green beans, add beans after sauteing the first five ingredients. Include one cup of chicken or beef broth along with the cayenne pepper and paprika.
  • Bring entire mixture to a boil, then reduce heat to low-medium.
  • Cover the pot and simmer on low-medium heat for 20 minutes or until green beans are tender. Taste and add salt as needed.
