I believe this chicken spaghetti Crock Pot recipe with cream cheese is one of the simplest slow cooker recipes yet, but it's also one of the tastiest!
All we love about slow cooking - just dump all the ingredients - plus all the comfort food ingredients we love - pasta, cheese, and chicken - equals the best of all weeknight dinner recipes!
Just dump everything except the cheese and spaghetti into your slow cooker and cook on low for about 4-6 hours.
About 20 minutes before everything is due to be done, cook your spaghetti noodles and drain before adding to the slow cooker along with the cheese.
The chicken is tender and tasty, and the cream cheese gives the dish a nice creaminess.
The spices add zest along with the cheddar cheese. Lots of great flavors all mixed together in one comforting dish the whole family will love!
What You'll Need
1 large chicken breast (about ½ pound)
6 ounces tomato paste (one small can)

1 teaspoon paprika
16 ounces uncooked spaghetti or linguini
8 ounces cream cheese
½ cup shredded cheddar cheese
1 large chicken breast (about ½ pound)
How to Make
Add chicken, broth, tomato paste, oregano, marjoram, and paprika to slow cooker and turn heat to high (or low, depending on how much time you have).
Cook on high for 4 hours or low for 6 hours.
About 20-30 minutes before chicken is done, cook spaghetti according to package directions and drain.
When chicken is done, remove from slow cooker and shred with a fork. Return shredded chicken to slow cooker and stir in.
Turn slow cooker temperature to warm. Add cream cheese and cheddar cheese, breaking cream cheese up a bit. Cover and let sit for 10-15 minutes to melt.
Add cooked spaghetti and stir together to incorporate ingredients. Serve right away.
Tips and FAQs
For this slow cooker chicken spaghetti, you can use any type of long pasta you wish. This includes spaghetti, linguini (my favorite!), angel hair, or fettuccine. You can also use short pasta if you wish, and it won't alter the recipe taste.
This recipe is meant to tender cook the chicken where it falls apart and is easy to shred. It should also be very flavorful with the addition of the broth, tomato paste, and spices. Then the addition of the cheeses and pasta makes the recipe complete.
Any type of cheese will work for the cheddar cheese. You can use sharp, medium, or mild cheddar. You can also use pepper Jack, Monterrey Jack, or Swiss.
Keep in mind that the sharper the cheese you choose, the more flavor it will add to the recipe. If you add mozzarella or provolone, both mild cheeses, the end result won't be quite as flavorful as adding sharp cheddar or Swiss.
If you want a bit of spice, pepper Jack is always a nice addition.
